Custom Prints

Overview

We’re always interested in new ideas and collaborations.

Many of our favourite projects have begun with a conversation — someone sharing an image, a paper, or a concept that sparked something new.

If you’re drawn to the style of Atomic Printworks but would like something tailored, we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

Custom prints can take many forms:

  • A larger format or alternate colourway of an existing design
  • A modified composition adapted for a specific space or display
  • A new artwork inspired by a theme, scientific idea, or dataset you’d like to explore visually
  • A collaborative commission, where we develop a concept together from research or reference material

We’re open to individual collectors, educators, researchers, and institutions who share our interest in clarity, structure, and visual storytelling.

Process

Custom projects usually begin with a short conversation to define the idea and scope.

We’ll discuss your objectives, format, timeline, and budget, then outline a proposed approach and estimated cost.

Each piece is developed with the same attention to detail, scientific accuracy, and design precision as our standard editions.

Once confirmed, we’ll share progress updates and proofs for review before the final print is produced.

Larger or Special Formats

Beyond our standard editions, we can produce work using a range of specialist photographic and fine-art processes, including:

  • Digital Lambda printing on fibre-based black-and-white paper
  • C-type photographic printing for continuous-tone colour work
  • Archival giclée printing on museum-grade cotton papers
  • Mounting options such as aluminium, reverse Perspex, or Dibond
  • Lightbox printing and backlit displays
  • A kaleidoscope of framing options in wood, metal, or bespoke finishes

These techniques allow us to create prints and installations that are technically exacting, visually striking, and tailored to specific interiors or exhibition environments.

We can advise on materials, finishes, and conservation framing for both private collectors and institutional clients.

Collaborations and Commissions

We’re particularly interested in working with organisations — public or private — who wish to collaborate on scientific or mathematical visualisation, educational storytelling, or large-format display projects.

Our expertise spans data-driven imagery, astrophysical mapping, generative systems, and high-resolution print and digital production.

We also collaborate on video installations, projection works, and interactive displays, bringing the same precision and clarity to moving image as to print.

A new sister studio — launching soon — will focus exclusively on large-scale artworks and advanced visualisation projects.

This new venture will combine Atomic Printworks’ design ethos with high-performance computing and GPU-accelerated rendering to create spectacular imagery, installations, and research-driven visual experiments.

Getting Started

Include as much information as you can: what inspired you, the size or format you have in mind, and where the work will be displayed.

We’ll reply with initial thoughts and next steps.
